Acrylic, PMMA

Acrylic or PMMA sheets are by far the most commonly used plastic material in diverse fields such as signage, architecture, aircraft hoods, light guides, lenses and many more. Due to its high volume production it is available in many gauges from 1 mm up to 200 mm thick; also many colors and special textures are readily available. Generally speaking it has excellent clarity with light transmission over 98%: it is a relatively hard material that does not scratch easily, it is sensitive to impact, though more impact resistant grades are available. Special grades: hard coated, anti static, anti reflex, anti glare, RFI.

Anti-static (Clear ESD)

Static Dissipative Rigid PVC plates are one of the specialty materials imported by Scopustech to address the growing demands of high technology industries. Unlike most plastic materials which are non conductive, anti static PVC has a surface resistance of 10^6 – 10^8 ohms and it repels static charges which could otherwise cause dust accumulation, and lead to the destruction of semi conductive elements. The material is designed for use in clean rooms and the high technology industry. It is fire retarding and enjoys UL94-V0 rating. Available gauges are 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 mm; colors: clear, semi-transparent grey, semi-transparent brown, semi-transparent orange, ivory. Special grades: high temperature, chemical resistant, EMI, impact resistant.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is the material of choice if an unbreakable product is required: flexible and tough and withstands impact to a vey high degree. These properties also enable using polycarbonate at a wider temperature range then most other polymers. Compared with acrylic it is softer and very easily scratched hence the widespread use of hard coated polycarbonate. Maximum thickness is 10 mm down to very thin films of 0.025 mm; the color range is limited, though in large quantities special grades can be produced. Special grades: hard coated, anti static, UL94-V0, optical coating.

Laser Absorbing Acrylic

Scopustech  uses specilaty laser blocking acrylic sheets, which are used upon customer requests. Acrylic sheets are 3 mm thick and up to 1210 mm long by 914 mm wide; for larger sizes we create custom made sheets of up to 3000 x 2000 mm. Acryclic sheets are available in a variety of colors and optical characteristics. Detailed specification are provided upon request.

PVC

Polyvinylchloride or PVC is a rugged and economical structural material. It is softer then acrylic and less prone to impact, it scratches almost as easily as polycarbonate. PVC has excellent adhesion properties which make it easy to bond and paint and due to its wide plastic range it readily thermoforms. Clear PVC has a bluish translucent tinge which makes it less then ideal for optical components; other colors are light/dark grey, black and white; foamed lightweight sheets are also available. Special grades: anti static UL94-V0, EMI, high temperature, chemical resistant.
